A Seda é um Mistério | The Mistery of Silk
Catarina Alves Costa | 2003
DVcam | 36'

[Synopsis]
Teresa Frade climbs up to the last amoreira tree in the central square of Castelo Branco (Portugal), looking for food to feed her silk worms. This film, directed in the dwan of the 21st Century, brings us back, in a surprising way, to silk’s most ancient production techniques. It also contributes to a profound knowledge of this textil activity, which has been practised domestically and tradicionally mainly in two rural areas of Portugal, Trás-os-Montes and Charneca beiroa.
